I know that some of us prefer getting to/from the airport (or transfer hotels) using one of the various limo companies in Las Vegas, so here's a thread to discuss our experiences with them.

My last three trips, I've booked a Town Car to/from the airport from a company called . which if I remember correctly, I came across doing a search on Brian's site. I've been fairly happy with their service and they have become my limo company of choice. I've always booked a Town Car, but based on what driver they have available, you may end up with more than what you've booked. Their drivers are very prompt as well, as every time I've used them, they've gotten there ahead of the scheduled pick up time.

My first trip using them, the trip to the Golden Nugget was in a Town Car as booked, but the return was in a Ford Expedition, which for an airport drop off, is ideal since the running boards are close to curb height. The only issue that first trip was due to me staying in the Rush Tower, which has it's own entrance and despite including that in the reservations, the guy was waiting on my at the main entrance but called to double check.

My second trip, the pick up was with an Expedition (same guy that drove me to the airport the previous trip) and the return was with the Town Car.

My recent trip, the pick up was with a Town Car, but not the usual Town Car, the driver had a stretched Town Car, and couldn't even drop me off at my hotel since it was too long to get into the parking lot at the Golden Gate. Was only charged for a regular Town Car. For my transfer between the Golden Gate and the Tropicana, it was a regular Town Car.

I've never had a bad experience with Presidential Limo. There are some drivers I'd highly recommend over others, but their level of service, attention to detail is spectacular.

presidental treated us well. They had a deal where they'd pick you up and drop you off again for one price ($60?)... they sent a stretch Excursion, which was nice.

The first time I decided to do the limo thing, I was going to book through Presidential, but at the time, their booking site wasn't using HTTPS, and that was a no-go for me. My next trip, I may look into booking with them.

We've only taken a limo once and that was Presidential. It was OK, but the driver didn't talk at all so no info or recommendations. He took us where we wanted to go, a liquor store and the Vegas sign, but I'm not sure he earned his tip as he didn't do anything out of the ordinary.

I've also used the limos that hang out around McCarren with good results. If you have more then one taxi worth of people in your group it can be less expensive.

Ditto to Presidential Limo, they are the absolute best and I use them every time for my ride from the airport to my hotel. I try not to concern myself with the trip back. I'm usually in a pissy mood and tell the cabbie the exact route I need them to take to get to the airport, and no god damn it I do not want to take the freeway at 5 am on a Thursday just take Las Vegas BLVD, you crooked bastard.

When you get to baggage reclaim, go out the door to your left for the limos rather than right for the taxis.

I use a Town car to get from the airport to the hotel but not back. I have never had to wait for a taxi at any of the hotels, but the ten minute (that seems like an hour) taxi line at the airport is just too much for me to handle first thing in Vegas. Also, i have the car stop at the store on the way to the strip so we can pick up some booze and snacks. I book for an hour, including the stop at the store, it has never taken more then 40 minutes.

So when I book, I go with whoever has the best hourly rate; this next trip its, Las Vegas Transportation Inc. $35 rate plus fees brings it to $44 plus tip. Presidential Limo was $50 plus fees, so until I have a bad experience with LVT I will save the $15.

Limo experiences...

First time we had been downtown and went to Golden Nugget to get a cab back to Flamingo. Limo driver hanging out there asked where we were going, we told him, and he said hop in, I'll take you. He had to go somewhere on the strip for a pick-up anyway. Tipped him $10. Was the first time my wife had ridden in a limo and thus the limo monster was created.

Second time I was traveling solo for a conference and flew in on a Saturday night. I arrived feeling no pain due to many cocktails on plane and layover in Phoenix. I walked down to the lower level from baggage claim where the limos hang out, and started asking who could give me a ride. One guy says $40 for 2 hours, and I say SOLD! Cruised down the strip, then had him take me by Alexis Park to check in and drop off luggage. Came out and had him take me down the street to Hard Rock. This was Saturday night around 11 so the entrance is busy with many young "beautiful" people. We pull up and he says sir, stay where you are, let's give them the full treatment, then came around and opened my door. He's all "welcome to the Hard Rock sir, I hope you have a very fine evening sir, it's been my distinct pleasure to serve you sir" as I step out in my blue jeans, golf shirt and ratty tennis shoes as heads turn with people wondering who this guy is. Funny stuff!

Since then we always have the casino send a limo and also take us to the airport (the limo monster must be appeased), and have never had a bad experience. The one time we didn't was when we stayed at Orleans and they wouldn't send a limo as we had no history there. I went Presidential and got the single rose and bottle of champagne deal. When we go to put the bags in the limo, driver first reaches in and pulls a bottle of champagne out of a case and says here's your champagne. Warm... no, hot champagne. We were pretty disappointed. He also wanted to run a credit card, even though we already paid in advance. I resisted, but he was insistent, so I paid and had to call Presidential after the trip to straighten all that out. The rose was nice anyway. No more Presidential for me, thank you.

Reviving this thread.....

For my trip in October, I went ahead an booked with Presidential, as they've got a pretty solid reputation (no company can be absolutely perfect every time) and their VIP deals are pretty good. My last two trips, June 2011 and December 2011 really started to sour me with the company I've been using because of their contractor in Vegas. For the trip last June, I booked directly with the contractor instead of through A1 Worldwide and decided to go back to booking directly with A1 Worldwide for my trip in December. Both trips, I land and never get a phone call from the driver who is to meet me in the baggage claim, which is what had been done in the past. In both cases, the driver is a younger guy who is obviously fairly new to this and is learning the procedures. Back in June, the driver had to call me because he forgot to get an imprint of my card (which is something I never had to do when I booked via A1 Worldwide) and he had to come back to the hotel. In December, the driver didn't have me sign anything at all, and when I asked him about having to sign something, he said "don't worry about it". Those two incidents did not instill much confidence in the drivers that Las Vegas Transportation is hiring. I had only booked a one-way trip in June, but booked a round trip for December and the only issue with that pick up was something that was out of the driver and my hands, bad cell coverage. He called my phone and because I was a dead zone, it went straight to voice mail, as voice mail I didn't get until we were halfway to the airport from Caesars. I've never had any issues with the company in regards to hotel pickups, as they've always been on-time (I've always gotten out there 10-15 minutes before the pickup just in case they get there early) and the only issue was the first time I used the company, as the Rush Tower at the Golden Nugget had just opened up and a lot of drivers (taxi, limo, etc.) were not aware of the tower having its' own entrance (Even though in the comments section of the reservation I mentioned the Rush Tower entrance.).
