I don't play J.O.B., BP and DDB instead, but I do find Silverton often offers a lot of 9/5 and 9/6 at bartops at the .25 level.

Isn't the Palms still known for VP? In Dec. we noticed the bank of JOB machines by the front door at the Palms was full when we walked by. Same thing 3 hours later. I'm guessing most of the players were locals.

One common favorite is Main Street Station downtown at the Boars Head Bar where play can be accompanied by their tasty Black Chip Porter comped. Full pay JOB is supplemented with Scratch off cards for every quad. The cards give from $2 to $4000, but generally $2 with an occasional $5. Still, the added payoff raises the EV. Just be certain to not clear the quad away until you get the scratch off card.
Your first day playing you might want to take advantage of another unadvertised promo. For about $1000 run through the machine the player's club will issue a free buffet that does not subtract from your point balance. Check with them to get the details and see if the deal is still current. Also pay attention to your point balance so you can compute when you have run enough through to qualify.

Personally, I like the 4 Queens and Hilton. They may not have the best straight up pay scales, but after analyzing cashback, comps, bounce back, discretionary comps, and marketing comps, I think I get the most bang for my buck at these places. And that’s from 1¢ to $1 levels.

TI also has some good machines at the 50¢ level.

That's good to hear about the Four Queens. I found the same thing in 2004, so I was hoping to find it was still a good place to play.

For 10/7 Double Bonus the Four Queens has on the back wall to the right of Magnolia's is the best DB in Vegas because a full pay table is offered along with a progressive royal.
This next trip as well as the usual cashback I got three nights in October with $50 food and $60 freeplay and two tickets to Fitz of Laughter (sells at $40 a ticket) and 3 nights again in November with $50 food and a free slot tournament that includes a couple of breakfasts. I then added a night for $24. At my low level of play I have no other place offering three night stays and it means less check in check out hassle.
There seems always to be good food deals.
And right in the lobby is a half priced ticket booth for Vegas shows.
Then Binions pool can be used.
If they have a room, they check me in, even at 10am.

It is fast becoming my favorite place to play.
