Yep. For some unknown reason (re; insanity) my wife wanted to take the keiki to Lego Land via Vegas during the time that they were suppose to be in skool; which means taking all the skool and class work along for the ride.

Oh my; sorry the players in this debacle are myself; Her Highness the Queen; and Daughter Maile (of legal gaming age) and the 2 heathen terrorists spawns of doom and carnage; Kaleo (7) Kekoa (6)

Image

So we leave on the afternooner; land at Vegas at midnight; get the car from Budget - (Malibu 195 for a week) - Score 1 is a nice agent gives us a brand new Toyota Sienna with 400mi on it for same price. We needed every inch of that van. So I am grateful as hell to him.

Get to the MSS and walk over to Market Street Café for some late night chow. After we all order and Kekoa is last to ask if he can have 'Waffles" Im like sure, We order....The second I hand the menus to our waiter, he intones (Kekoa) " So; how long does it take to cook a waffle?" He says this at about 180 decibels; and in the most bizarre pseudo british uppercrusty pinky up tone.

It was absolutely hilarious the first time; then he did for the next 10 times it got a bit old. But the place was not packed and the people there seemed entertained.

Image

Mr. Waffle at the Container Park

Sooooo we get the crew back to the room and settled. My daughter and I head down to Boars Head for a drink and some VP learnings. Maile had been practicing a tiny bit on the computer and understood a bit about Jacks Or Better. Im coaching her a bit and bang. She gets quad 7's

Stoked she says I won 250 dollars! No I say you won 250 quarters....This is the running story for the next few forays into gambling for her - that you bet 25cents but why don't you win dollars.....Arrrgggggh. ANy way we wander over to WOF and.....

Image

She gets her first SPIN All stoked again. She of course hits 250 quarters again. We have the SAME DAMN conversation on why it aint dollars....Arrrrgggggh.

Anyhow; be back with more in a bit I have some work to do and heathens to tend to,

What happens when you have 2 brothers and one outweighs the other by 30 pounds; is younger; and you give them fake swords and shields and helmets. In a Casino.

Coming up next!

This was the face at the moment of "How long does it take to cook a Waffle?"

And what the crew looked like pre-flight (while I was still sane)

Okay so they leave for LEGOLAND. I stay play and basically lose lose lose. Quad here and there. But Craps was down down down. Ah well. Lets walk to the Strip.

Did that.

AGAIN. Why I do these things is beyond me. Walked by the Pawn Shop of TV fame. Meh. Some table out selling VIP tours. I mean WTF? I gues if you are a die hard fan or something.

Got mid to deep S Strip and said oh hell and ran back. Showered and beer. Eats.

Went off to East Fremont St. for the fun loving side of Dtown. I like that area. Played Craps at GN; watch a younger person lose approx. 60K in about an hour. Whew.

Got updates from crew on way to California/LEGOLAND. They didn't kill each other but my wife wanted to. Kekoa can be an angel 20% of the time and he is great; but when he wants to go stubborn.....Whooo Boy. Just like his Grammy; he doesn't take "no" for an answer well. Then he loves to whack the brother; whom he needs to compute and function all the games he wants to play....Ahhhhh I know why I am an only child. My parents said "OH hell no I aint having another one like him"

Good call Mom.

So they have a great deal scored in LEGOLAND. Was suppose to be 80 or so per adult with a free child coupon. They get there; get all checked in a the Motel6.2 and go to the Park. At the parking lot (3 forks; no spoons as they didn't serve Poi) A lady walks up and gives them a coupon for family of 4 from JackinDaBox for 15 bucks each. Score!

They get to the purchase line and ANOTHER lady walks up and asks if they bought their tix yet. Cathy says not as yet. She gives them a Hopper pass for all parks for Free. She says they paid for too many and 'Here take it have fun; You look like you got a fierce crew" So they basically get all parks for like 40 bucks total. Anyway they have a blast; enjoy all the Park has to offer and Kaleo (the calmer one) is in his LegoGlory.

Cathy bought them Lego Swords/Shields/Helmets which they got out of the van with at MSS and (seriously) went thru the Casino itself whacking each other all the way to the front desk. Not outta hand whack; but whacking... ALL THE WAY THROUGH; HITTING EACH OTHER. Gawd I was so proud. . . . . (insert stony silent bell tone here)

Anyway I'll be back soon with more hi-jinx.

Isn't it the truth? I make it worse than it was (believe me?...Bwhahahaha)

Anyways...Previous to the journey to LEGOLAND we have the first day in Vegas with the heathens spawns of doom and my Daughter. This is where you will get my unbiased full on plug for Zappos! head honcho Tony Hsieh - and the work he is doing off East Fremont St; Especially Container Park http://downtowncontainerpark.com/ The Park itself is staffed with some really friendly folks and is F R E E....And free is good when the quality is as high as this place is. The area is growing with many new locales of drinking and dining to be had. The use of the containers as bulidings is great and well done. Bars; Barber Shop (at the rear of the stage in back in 2 Train Cars) Food stuffs and the Tree House & 30 foot slide make up the area. The staff are super friendly and informative. Next to the layout is where they are developing the AirStream area where soon you can rent or stay in refurbished AirStreams by the dozens. Very cool retro look RV's that I think are totally righteous looking (Am I dating myself with that wording or what?)

Image

The Entrance off 7th Street.

So they have this huge slide / Tree house set up. Huge sorta hard Styrofoam like Tinker Toys for kids and adults to create with. Heathen terrorists of doom had a mega hour blast there. Live and recorded tunes play off the stage to the rear of the Treehouse area in a small Amphitheatre style music area.

Image

To the rear you can see the Barber Shop / reclaimed trains thingy.

Loved the entrance signage; as you can see the Waffle-Guy is concerned on the instructions given....

Image

So on my days (2.5; give it 1 Fork in my eye; since the Queen didn't stay in California longer with the purveyors of doom) I did my usual stupid amount of walking....

Image

Hey its just right down the street! Walked down to the Strip. Past the Pawn shop of TV fame. Meh.

Image

Of course this was after a healthy breakfast of a Loco-Moco (Rice; Thick Hamburger patty with Eggs over medium covered in gravy)

Walked that off. Came back to Empty Sigma Derby at The "D". I like the "D". Its hopping loud and fun. Friendly staff as well.

Image

Lost some quarters.

Image

Image

Zilla still aint going yet; but pretty soon Vomitus will appear from the sky; Im sure!

Feedings of the heathens was pretty fun; 777 of course was a big hit.

Image

Jose at Boars head was the man as always. Hes soo nice and I appreciate the time I get to talk with him.

Walking Fremont with the guys was fun; Kekoa was all concerned about the homeless and why "You don't give them some money??" (this was daytime; night he was more concerned with checking out boobs) Kaleo on the other hand wanted to know which ones were "Scammers" since "Theres too many of them that hold the same HUNGRY sign;but they don't LOOK hungry they look drunk, Papa"

Image

More soon. Like Her Highness' sister that lives there; the crew from the show "Tanked" on Animal Planet or Discovery or one of those TV channel things.... Hang in there; I had to.

Sooooo on we go. Quiet now at FIRE for now at 3am; might as well try to get more in as I can not sleep for $%^&*.

http://www.acrylicaquariums.com/ OK another positive plug; The show TANKED! is a fave of the grand-heathen-puloinersofdoom and their Grammy. Ive read poor reviews of the shop/production area; that they just "wanna sell you stuff" $%^&*. Staff was amazing; place is way off the road toward Silverton/Bass Outlet The gent that took us around was super friendly a knew his fish stuff; right up Kaleo interests. The walls are plastered with thank yous from schools hospital staff (kids wards and such) and just had a real good vibe to the place. They were filming and that was a bonus for the gang.

It was then off to Bass/Silverton.

Image

Image

The gang loved it and the Silverton. Again really nice people at Silverton. Guys were in awe at the Bass Outlet.

And your fearless leaders way to VP doom. 4-to-a-Royal draw of.....3 of Hearts.

Image

And hold 1 to a straight flush. I mean Jesus. I was a horror.

Image

We did a Strip Trip with doom-makers as well. MGM Grand lobby they CLIMED INTO THE DAMN RING set up for a fight night. (I was in the restroom; so ...NOY MY FAULT!!) Went to M & M store. Why? Because it isn't like they are hyped up enough without adding Chocolate. Coke Store for the Around the World Sampler which was actually fun and tasty with them actually behaving for one small short blessed moment.

Image

Ok gotta go. Back again in a bit.

What a great report. You have a great ohana. Looking at the last photo here -- they served every type of coke to sugar up the kids.
After everything they did it looks like the terrorists will be wanting to go back.
gotta love the VP wild swings. I drew 5 cards once (held none) and landed a full house. I never seem to land a full house on the first dealt cards.
and your daughter is right it should be 250 dollars. Funny how the lower denominations are credits but when you get up to higher denominations they make it dollars. so a hit on the bonus is 250 credits/coins on a quarter machine but the 250 on a $5 machine is not in coins/credits but rather in Dollars.

Thanks Evan. Yeah shes right but I cant let her know that.

At the TANKED! show production area. Nice folks.

Ok about the only VP porn I got.

Image

And about the only time they settled down.

Image

I really better go to sleep for minute or 2 before dawn. Thanks all!

This guy was really talented on Fremont Street.

Sooooo. Some general stuffs and observational baloney from me - Walking back thru the Casino at MSS after getting the crew off to visit The Queens family that resides and works near The M down on south; I had to carry the guys Lego Creations they had taken to the car. Re; A large robot thing; and a pretty good sized bird thing. I am walking thru getting the odd looks and stuff not even realizing how strange I must look. I get in the elevator with a lady who obviously sees the strang looking "Good luck items" I have in hand. I say " Not my good luck charms I swear; its the grandkids!" We shared a nice long laugh on that one.

The Container Park is good for adults, too!

Image

I know I sound like a broken record; but the place was well run and very enjoyable.

Scams and general mayhem; I dont know who needs a VIP tour of a Pawn Shop.

Image

Dont know when we'll get back; its been a long tour this round.

See I have a sick sense of humor. I would of said in the elevator. "Not a lot of kids in Vegas to lure to a hotel rooms, huh?" (Although saying that, these days, might land you in the clinker overnight.)
