Day 1: Flew in at 8:00 am and decided to grab a cab downtown and head straight for a short stack of pancakes at Golden Gate. They were most excellent. It was also a good time to check out the newly remodeled International Beer Bar at Golden Nugget, which was pretty much empty.

the new bar seems like a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the people watching, but as you mentioned the inside always seemed empty.

They've had it for a while. They just recently renovated it and made it part of the new Bar 46 they opened at the front of the property.

True. I've noticed it's often most of the morning, but after about 7:00 pm it seems to pick up. But it's kind of hit or miss. The thing I love most about it is it's a 24 hour bar. I can remember many a nights when I couldn't sleep I'd come down here and have a drink at 3:00 am.

Bar 46 closes from (if I recall correctly) about 7:00 am - 11:00 am. So it's almost 24 hours. Almost.

But I love the Int'l Beer Bar because it's always there for you. Like a good friend.

Been away more than a year so I guess it came recently?

Thanks a million! [Wouldn't it be great to win a $Million on your next Vegas visit? I hope you do]

I realized I was spending so much time downtown and never sharing any of the stuff I was learning. Not nice. So I'm trying to include it there. Probably won't be back until January but I have a lot of stuff I want to try out then. And still a lot to pass on from my last trip in September. There's so much to do in such a relatively small area. Love downtown!

Anyway, just posted on the blog about the International Beer Bar with a couple of photos. I'm not the best photographer but it hopefully makes you feel like you're there.
