This trip report is being written two full months after my trip.

I had airline credits on two different airlines, and they expired soon, so I decided to take another trip to Vegas.

July 22
I land around 4pm after flying through Dallas. I get to Dollar Car Rental and pickup my waiting rental.

I went straight for Wynn for some poker. On the way, I recall seeing hot woman walking the sidewalk in bikinis. My first thoughts “God I love Vegas” Second thoughts “damn it’s impossible to drive and take pictures at the same time.”
I park and go in to play some poker.
I have only one note of a hand: I had pocket 2s. I flopped a set. And I lose to Ace flush. I have a note I left down $85.
I was hungry so I went for some cheap eats at the new Earl of Sandwich in Palms.
I like their sandwich… what can I say.
Image
I went to the hotel and I assume I headed to my room since I have no other notes for that day.

July 23rd
Went down to play some early morning gaming. I lost $100 pretty quickly in their $5 slots.
I went over to the poker room and lost $200. Not a good start to the day or the trip.
From there I went to MGM play the Lion Share machine (located right in front the high gaming section)
Image
I proceeded to lose $100. I was planning on only losing $50 but if you hit the cash out button it is hand pay only. So I proceeded to lose what I put in.
I tried playing some poker at MGM and that was a very poor decision. I lost $200 there, too. YUCK.
I headed back to my room to freshen up before I met up with Rog for dinner and a show.
On my way back to RIO the curse had struck.

Image
Yes it rained.
Met with Rog and had a few drinks at Encore and got to look out the window.
Ahhhh (sigh) Rog knows all the good places to sit.

We proceeded to have dinner at Botero’s.
After dinner we killed some time hanging out and then went to see Crazy Girls.
This time I got to sit on the opposite side of the stage.
Wowzers is it nice to sit and enjoy the show without the need to put dollar bills into their string bikinis.
Afterwards I got a photo op.

I went straight to bed after the show. (stayed on east coast time, the best I could, since my phone always seems to ring 5AM in the morning—arg. Why do I never get calls when I am home but only when on vacation?)

July 24
I lack notes for the morning. Not sure what I did. (just found notes won $65 playing penny slots but lost $200 playing poker)
For lunch, I went to the burger place, that was closing, at Caesars (can’t recall the name) I found out it was not open for lunch so I headed back to Mirage. I ate at Carnegie for lunch and played poker at Mirage. I know I left up, just not sure how much. Looks like about 300. (correction it was $405. photo doesn't reflect that)
Image
From there I went downtown.
Took the highway… what was I thinking…traffic jam.
Image
I parked at Binions and went over to Golden Nugget to give them some action.
I think I won and left ahead $95. My notes said I was playing with a bunch of idiots. (not sure why I wrote that, but it must be true if I wrote it)
From there I grabbed dinner at Four Queens for their burger & fries deal.
Image
Their fries are good and so was the burger. I think this will be a regular thing to do.

After dinner I proceeded to Casino hop.
Eventually I got a text from Rog he was downtown and wanted to meet for dinner. (shucks I just ate) I sat down with him anyways and I had dessert. After that we strolled the Fremont Experience and got to see some nice sites.
This is the new remodeled bar at Golden Nugget.

I'll keep this video in the general section.

It took a little convincing Rog to play some boobjack but I think he enjoyed it
regardless of how bad two of the dealer’s personalities where.
Image
We were up and down for a little bit. I lost $15 at the table.
We then walked a little bit more of Fremont and then parted ways to meet up later at PH to see a show.
I don’t recall the name of the show but it was rog compliant. After the show I headed back to home base and called it a night.

July 25 (departure day)

I check out and head to Mirage to try to continue my luck at poker there. It did not disappoint.
Image
Of course the last hand before I left I lost about $180 bucks but I still left ahead, wayyyy ahead. (correction: On that last hand I had pocket aces. I flopped a set to make 3 aces and I still lost -- it was $210) I think at one time I had a stack of about $1000. I think departed with about $850.
Image
I headed to the car rental drop off with my new winnings.

Thoughts: I don’t plan to play anymore poker, in the mornings, at RIO. They are all locals looking for the $100 house handout/drawing every two hours. So it’s hard to win any money in the mornings since they are never interested in betting.
A downtown visit has become more of a tradition.

Thanks Evan. See you next month.

Alora, you would not love pics of rain if you lived where I do. I have nightmares about the damned stuff.
