I'm not usually someone that needs help with Windows 7, but this one is really strange.

My wife has a background image on her computer that will not go away. I can log in under my username and I have no issues. Yet she gets this close up picture of a hummingbird sitting in it's nest. You can make the bird go away by changing to a solid background color, but you cannot get another image on the screen.

Things I've tried:
- Change the theme using "themes"
- Deleting the theme she was on and all other dynamic themes
- Change the background to a random picture using a photo from our picture archive
- Turned off and disabled Aero
- Rebooted into safe mode and tried to change the settings
- I even did a system restore back to a date before she noticed the problem

After which I did a full virus/malware scan.

Weird eh?

I'm open to ideas and suggestions.

Thanks!

You need to Google this, it is definitely weird. Probably a box somewhere that needs to be unchecked by someone with admin rights.

yeah make sure you're doing this under Admin. I assume she is admin, too. Have you tried clicking on default and live with that for a day or two and then change the background to her preferred background.

I even have a card key to get into the building(s). ;)

I've looked at Google and yeah, I am the admin and operate as such. I don't dole out control to anyone, not even my wife. Although she has access to the encrypted password list so I guess I'm not THAT much of a control freak. Hehe.

I think it's a corrupted user profile. Fun fun.

You should grant her admin access to see if the issue goes away. The background is one of the things you can have access rights taken away for.

She HAD admin access.

Basically I recreated her profile and everything was fine. Strange.
