This story has not been reported anywhere else but this blog, so I am a bit skeptical at this time

I saw someone asking about it on Cosmo's FB page this morning, but now that post is gone. The stuff about the change in the reservation system seems strange and could be wrong, but who knows they could be in the middle of a trying to make a deal.

From an IT point of view changing out a reservation system is a non-trivial operation. You don't just shut off the old computer and unpack the new one. You need to migrate all the existing reservation data to the new one, test it to make sure nothing was missed, etc.

Also casinos make changes to the floor layout all the time, and casinos replace their senior managers from time to time. I'm sure that whoever Deutsche have paid to run the casino is probably competent.

Cosmo has denied the report via an email to one of local gaming industry reporters for the LVRJ and Las Vegas Business Press and that mention was only sent out over Twitter.

The lack of any real media coverage beyond a mention in Robin "Exclusive" Leach's column and Twitter makes you wonder if there is some validity to the report. According to his column Thursday, a hotel tycoon "seriously wanting a second Strip hotel" had his offer for Cosmo rejected (Obviously Phil Ruffin, as the other independents with one property on the Strip don't have the funds to buy another Strip resort.), which prefaces a mention (and a questioning) about James Packer having possibly bought Cosmo.

James Packer's Crown Limited is already licensed in Nevada due to their stake in Cannery Casinos, and they previously tried to build a resort on the former Wet-N-Wild site before opting to invest in the Fontainebleau as well as Station Casinos and Harrah's, investments that lost them in the neighborhood of $750 million.
