Bring back Barbary Coast. I used to like it then.
I hope it doesn't mean they will just leave it as it is for ages while something is agreed. Another strip eyesore is not a nice thought.

Those rooms look small for a "luxury" hotel. The bed also looks odd. I bet if you compare the proportions, they digitally shortened the bed to make the room look less crowded.

From what I remember there was plenty of space between the end of the bed and the dresser in the old rooms, but I agree, it looks odd.
I'll have to dig out some pics to compare.

At least it's bound to be a easier name to pronounce.

Tiki wrote: You'd think they'd just call it Drai's... Early on that was the rumored name prior to the deal with Gansevoort and those rumors have popped back up. Sticking with the Bill's name as a short-term solution is probably the most likely outcome here. They've got a schedule to maintain in order to reopen the property in the Spring and likely a narrow window in which to determine the name the property will reopen under (Logo items need a bit of a lead time to be produced and last minute isn't going to cut it.). I'm going to throw something out of left field. How about "Claridge"? It's the name of one of the towers at Bally's A.C. and was previously a casino hotel that has been opened by Del Webb (Who had bought the hotel, which was built in 1930, in 1981 and converted it into a casino hotel.) before eventually being acquired by Park Place Entertainment. Caesars owns a copyright on the name, so why not use it in Vegas?

While Caesars has positioned the Horseshoe brand as one of their upper tier brands, a boutique version of it probably isn't how they want to bring the Horseshoe name back to Vegas (Although the original Horseshoe on Fremont Street was a really small hotel until they bought The Mint.) A lot of people thought they would slap the Horseshoe name on the Imperial Palace and it never did. The rumors several years ago (back when there were so many proposed hotels and condos in Vegas) that Bally's was going to get fitted for some horseshoes and the property was going to move closer to the Strip. This was also around the time that there were plans to build an arena behind the property,

I wonder if they will even bother to bring the Horseshoe name back. That name appeals to the more nostalgic of Vegas visitors and looking at the way they market themselves these days, it's clear to me they don't care about those gamblers anymore. They want douchebags and hoochies, and most of them don't know squat about the Horseshoe.

It's a name they use around the country at their other casinos, so the branding is already there and since they are so cheap it seems like something they might do just to save costs.
