I guess that JPMorgan Chase & Company will own a resort in Las Vegas within the next few years......

The article is full of holes as well, for example:

Quote:
The casino at SLS Las Vegas will be on a single floor, unlike other new developments on the Strip, which have multiple gaming levels, Nazarian said.

The only casino I can think of that has gaming on multiple floors is The D (nee Fitzgerald's). Just typical talking out of his ass by Sammy Boy.....

IP and Cosmo have gaming on more than one level if you include sportsbooks.

True, but that really is a bit of a stretch. There are a few high roller rooms that are on a different floor that the rest of the casino, but those are not generally available to the average person.

South Point has two-floor gaming as well. When it was still The "new" Aladdin that building had two or three floors of gambling.

Just remembered that Sam's Town (I know it's off strip) has two floors of gaming, as does California downtown.

There is still the matter of Sam Nazarian obtaining a gaming licence. The scuttlebutt is that the primary reason for the Sahara closing when it did was not because it was not "economically viable", but because Nevada Gaming Control refused to grant Navegante (the company managing the gaming operations at the Sahara) an extension on running the gaming operations. You would have thought that nearly four years after buying the place that Sam Nazarian would have gotten his gaming license by now. This raises a few red flags in my opinion.

The Sahara’s SLS renovation could mean big things for the north Strip

I have my doubts, but IF this happens I think it'll be a great thing. Maybe it would help convince Boyd to restart the Echelon project...

One year after it closed, can Sahara site become a symbol of Las Vegas’ rebound?

They almost look serious. I can't imagine that it makes more sense to gut a relic like the Sahara instead of imploding it and starting over. Either that or they could buy the already gutted Fountainbleu or make a play for Echelon.
